Waduup! Waduup! I'm back!! hehehe.....now to Drink or not to Drink????

To Drink or Not To Drink????????????????
I was on the phone with one of my homegurl last week and our talk drifted to alcohol and i voiced my complaints about a Pastor that was raising hell on any of his church members who consume alcohol or have alcohol in their house and that they will all go to hell.  while i get his point  i didn't agree with his approach and i told my gurl that i don't believe drinking is a sin, it becomes a sin when you get drunk or cause someone else to stumble and she diasgreed with me and promised to send me the bible verse that shows where God points out that we should not drink alcohol at all.

Three days later she sent me a txt with the bible verse and it was Isaiah 5:11 which says "Woe to those who rise early in the morning to run after their drinks, who stay up late at night till they are inflamed with wine." i read and meditated on it for a while but i still did not agree with her. I think the verse is talking about drunkards, who when they wake up in the morning their first thought is about alcohol and they stay up late at night drinking till they get drunk and they have no time for the things of God cuz they've made alcohol dere idol and it has consumed their thoughts and that is all they can think about. Instead of seeking first the kingdom of God they seek after alcohol first.

The bible makes us understand that Jesus never sinned and He lived a holy and pure life so if that is the case, drinking can't be a sin cuz there r bible verses that make reference to Jesus drinking and the very famous one was when Jesus turned water into wine at the wedding feast. Now If drinking was a sin why would Jesus provide it to them? so i think if people keep going on about how drinking is a sin then they r indirectly saying Jesus sinned which is Not True.

Deuteronomy 4:1-2 says Hear now, O Israel, the decrees and laws I am about to teach you. Follow them so that you may live and may go in and take possession of the land that the LORD, the God of your fathers, is giving you. 2.Do not add to what I command you and do not subtract from it, but keep the commands of the LORD your God that I give you.
Later on in Deuteronomy 14:26 when the isrealites were been given instructions about Tithes, they were told to convert there tithes into silver if it's too heavy for them to carry and "Use the silver to buy whatever you like: cattle, sheep, wine or other fermented drink, or anything you wish. Then you and your household shall eat there in the presence of the LORD your God and rejoice." Also in Ecclesiastes 9:7 which says "Go, eat your food with gladness, and drink your wine with a joyful heart, for it is now that God favors what you do."
Now why would God instruct them to buy and drink wine if it was a sin?

There are other bible verses i read like:
I tim 5:23
Psalm 104 :14-15
Amos 9:14
Isaiah 55:1
Prov 23:29-35
Ephesians 5:18
and they talk about drinking so i have come to the following conclusion.
-Drinking is not a sin, it becomes a sin when you don't do it in Moderation and the moderation rule goes for everything.. “Whether you are eating or drinking or doing anything else, do all things for God’s glory.” 1corin 10:31.
-Though i believe drinking is not a sin, Christians are Christ ambassadors and have to lay good example unto others and sometimes that might mean abstaing from alcohol alltogether. "It is better not to eat meat or drink wine or to do anything else that will cause your brother to fall." Romans 14:21.
-Underage drinking is a sin because we are told to obey the authority over us and the authority over us says no driking till 21 n i'd like to point out that breaking the law is a sin which means SPEEDING is a sin. hehehehe, don't fret we serve a merciful God!! " Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.' Romans 13:1
-So i think to drink or not to drink is a personal decision we all gotta make our selves...Personally i don't drink but i might have a glass of wine say on my wedding or anivesary or some sort of celebration and ive always wanted to taste a margarita hehehe so yea i wanna have a glass of it when i'm 21.
-If you do decide to drink make sure you r doing it to the Glory of God n plz plz if u not matured enough to hold ur liquor Don't Drink!!!!! ......................throwing up is so not a good look n from my friend's experience i know having a hangover is not fun!

Every Power of Orijo! Fall down and Crumble!!!!!

So for the first time in forever, the thought of doing Orijo actually crossed my mind. I had an exam today in American history which surprisingly I have actually enjoyed but the teacher’s way of testing was not what I was used to. He doesn’t do multiple choice which would have made my life so much easier. He made us define and explain terms. We covered 7chapters in 2weeks and that was almost 300 pages of reading and he chose 4terms from each chapter and we had to choose 2 from each making it a total of 14 terms we had to write about.
My phone had Microsoft on it and the thought of writing a few stuff down n later on taking a bathroom break to check it out crossed my mind but I thought about it some more and changed my mind. Not doing orijo is a sign of maturity so I casted out all those evil powers trying to pass orijo thoughts into my mind.
It was actually not too bad sha n hopefully I got like a high B or a shocking A.

Vexing things!

I love being Nigerian n won't trade it for anything in the world but sometimes, just sometimes, like today for example i just wish for like a day i could be American or sumthing. I know the feeling will be gone by tomorrow but just right now i wanna scream.

I'm 19, a junior in college but does that matter? Nope....neva bin drunk, done drugs, smoked or anything crazy like dat. I've bin very responsible but does of any dat matter? Nope..I still get treated like i'm 4 by my mom.

Now, dont get me wrong. I love my mom very much like she means the world to me but right now we are  just not on the same page. It's summer and while everyone else is going somewhere to have fun i'm stuck in the house.

Everytime any of my friends are doing something fun and invite me i pretty much know how the conversation will go with my mom like today for example.

Me: Mom, friend mi kan invite mi to go bowling nxt saturday, se mo le lo?
Mom: ehn kori si bowie (ehn, go to to bowie; a city in maryland)
Me: no, not bowie, bowling, kini game yen ti e ma ju ball si ile ti a lo gba awon kini bi bottles ti won tojo.
Mom: ehn, ore wo ni yen?
Me: Bimbo
Mom: mi ti mo (I don't know yet)
Me: mo fe fun ni answer le ni so igba wo le ma mo
Mom: Ma yo mi lenu so ti gbo.............
3hrs later
Me: so, mom nipa kini bowling yen, se mo le lo
Mom: Mi le ro inu yen nisin
Me: knowing shes gon say no anyways, i pushed a lil further i was like e de jo now
Mom: se answer lo fe abi..ehn o le lo
Me: kilode now, a kan fe lo bowl nikan ni
Mom: se emi ni mo n ba e soro ti o n ka oju soke fun, en o kuku ti ju 18, nkan to ba wu e ni ko lo se, to ba fe dabi awon omo America
Me: *thinking, how in d world did we get to talking about awon omo America
Mom: ehn ko eru e lo si odo bimbo, se bi o fe ni freedom ni
Me: too mad to talk just thinking how in the word did can i go bowling turn into ko eru e lo si odo bimbo

This pretty much happens everytime i ask to go out and its so frustarting at times like today cuz i really wanted to go bowling. I understand where shes coming from and all but sometimes, just sometimes like today i wanted to be from america or some other country where ur parent gives you a lil freedom.

One of my good friend who is also Nigeria is 21 and gets treated like that too so its a lil comforting to know i'm not the only one.

Now dat i'm done sulking, apart from dat i love being Nigerian n the thing is even though i whine about not being given the freedom to go and come as i want, i feel like when i have kids i'm probably gon do the same thing too. lol

I'm on summer break now sha, its so freaking hot outside, n even inside too, i just wanna stand under the shower till summer is over.

Finally we get snow!!! Yay!

I've been praying for a snow day since school started this semester but all i got was news of snow everywhere but the city where I'm staying. I didn't get discouraged though because the other 9500+ students plus some professors were also praying for a snow day. 2months later after we've all given up on it, God smiled on us and finally gave us snow the day before this test i had to take.
The snow started while i was in church and i was so happy but i didn't get too excited cuz in the past we've had what looked like a snow storm but only lasted for 4mins and things went back to the way they were.
The snow continued to fall while I went to my friends house for lunch after church which was really good. she's from kenya and she made chapati, cabbage with potatoes n beef stew. By the time i was ready to leave the whole ground was covered in snow and i was very very very happy; my God don answer our prayers. My friend dat drove me back to my place just got her license and she's never driven with snow on the ground before but she did a good job till we were about to turn to get on a bridge and she had trouble turning the car and it looked we were about to slide off the bridge, i laughed it off after she finally figured it out but whoa! i was a lil'scared there for a min.

i was expecting my roomates to be back but they are not back yet and i was actaully happy about this. I love my roomates and all but having the room to my self is really awesome and i got a text from a friend that we are going sledding tonight so i can't wait. I love sledding.

The only sad part about the snow is having to cancel my movie plan with one of my girls. We had planned to see unborn and seeing dat I was broke she actually volunteered to pay for me but there's always 2morrow or some other time.

........just in case we don't get a full snow day and only get a 2hour delay 2morrow, I'm gonna study for my test so i don't start screaming and freaking out 2morrow.

I love Nigeria and 2mins with me will alert you to that fact. i have a tendency to go on and on about Nigeria. I love writing in pidgin; i think it's d koolest thing ever. I love talking and  i'm loud ;it's a Nigerian thing.............I'm a sophomore in college studying nursing and can't wait to graduate
